Favourite Childhood Halloween Movies

Hey Guys! So I recently posted some of my favourite scary movies to watch in October. That list was more for teenagers and adults since some of the movies are quite scary. However, this list is going to be on kids or anyone who wants to watch them.

Halloweentown (1998) – There is multiple movies in this franchise however, the first one is the best and I do not really enjoy the other ones. This is a Disney Channel Original movie and is definitely funny and enjoyable. The fourth movie, Return to Halloweentown, which was released in 2006 has a new actress who plays the main character. I do not like when movies change actors during the series.

Hocus Pocus (1993) – This movie has everything that a halloween movie should have. There are witches, curses, black cats and zombies. This is quite a comedy halloween movie but is not actually scary. This movie is great for children and I know that the reason I love it so much is because I watched it all the time as a child.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) – This movie can be considered a Christmas movie or a Halloween movie but either way it is such a fantastic movie. This is a Tim Burton film which makes it great and aesthetically pleasing in the artwork. It is a little creepy but not really and there is a great soundtrack.

Monster House (2006) – This is probably the most scary film on this list. The old man and his house is so creepy. This movie is about 3 children who go on an adventure and uncover some things. I have not watched in this movie in ages but cannot wait to watch it in the month of October.

Honourable Mentions

  • Labyrinth (1986)
  • Hotel Transylvania (2012)
  • Edward Scissorhands (1990)
  • Twitches (2005)
  • Coraline (2009)
